Why I became a Zoho Books convert

When I talk to my clients they often ask me what online accounting software I use myself. I get to work with many different accounting systems when working with clients. I am also an Authorised Partner of Xero, Quickbooks and Zoho.

I actually used to use Xero, which is a brilliant system that served Sunshine Systems well for quite a while. But now…I’ve made the switch. I’ve Zoho-d! And I couldn’t be happier.

You might be rolling your eyes, thinking “Of course you use Zoho Books – you’re in their partner program! Why wouldn’t you be spruiking it?”

Hey, I get it. But I am also a Xero partner and check out my reasons for making the switch – they’re hard to argue with:

  • Zoho Books has all the same great features that Xero has, but it’s cheaper! You can also choose a pricing package to suit your business’ needs: $12 per month, $24 per month, or $36 per month.
  • It keeps track of transactions efficiently and easily. The Client Portal is fantastic – it allows your clients to see exactly how much time is being spent on different tasks. You can even set up email notifications for new activity that has happened in the Portal.
  • It’s more scalable. Xero is a great product, but in terms of longevity, your business is probably going to outgrow Xero before it outgrows Zoho Books. There are businesses with thousands of staff, turning over billions of dollars, that use Zoho Books.
  • It integrates easily and seamlessly with other apps. Zoho Books is part of the Zoho One ecosystem, which includes over 40 productivity and business apps for your organisation (including CRM, reporting tools, even website content management systems!). Having a scalable system which integrates and synchronises all of your business apps, means you won’t need to change systems in the future.

Xero is great for small businesses but if you are planning to grow, it’s easier to make the change to Zoho now. Please send me a message or email, visit my website, or even give me a call if you want to know more. No sales pitch, no obligation – just one guy telling you about why he’s happy he made the switch to Zoho! If you like, you can access the Zoho Books free trial and we can go through it together.
